Paranormal
Why Does the "Paranormal" Tug at Our Soul? PDF  | Print |  E-mail

Recently this spiritualist was asked why it was that today's ageless culture seems so "enamored" with the "Paranormal". Well, to be quite up front with it all, it's popular! Yes, then comes along all of the "why's" and the timeless "how comes"?

Ah yes, there is always someone sitting in the room somewhere who will ask this question, if not out loud, then manifested within his or her own silent thoughts on the matter.

In a societal sense the leading explanation of being popular seems to be enough to satisfy most, though when we begin to dig down into that hole for some moisture leading to the waters of fascination, the matter begins to seem a bit thicker and certainly could use some straining to get us through all of the mud, and all of the Hollywood, or should we say, the New York that overflows from the rivers Ghostly!

The great paranormal fascination that has overtaken much of the world that we now inhabit sings to that yearning within us all while also asking us to weave some legitimacy into those things we do not understand but oh-so-wish to understand! The human species, paraphrasing Shakespeare's intentions in thought, was basically expressed as that little bit of divinity incarnate at our feet, with the remainder of that divinity yet to reach full-blossom then showing itself as the rose that we are yet to become! Oh if the likes of Shakespeare could be around now, he would no doubt be writing feverishly at a pace unbound trying to express his thoughts to the SyFy Channel! The biggest question to that shaded soliloquy of course is; "would anyone give him a chance with a lent ear?"

The intents with this are genuinely focused nonetheless, for the spark of the ageless, the timeless, the spark of the divine within us all is why we as a people tend to lend our ears to those who make their public business the thing of the shades of the universe. We all want to know, whether we really want to admit it or not!

Everyone wants to know what precisely happens after that last wisp of breath passes beyond our lips and after that glinted shine fades from our eyes!

Everyone wants to know if our loved ones or the loved ones of others have the opportunity to witness what we still do with our time here, to how we continue to express the fabric of our existence and if indeed there are the shades of the souls of others who do indeed slide around amongst us all?

You see, it runs the same course in the mind as that mystery or that story or tale that just will not leave our pondering minds. "We are naturally inquisitive beasts" it has been said by many poets and pens of literary figures throughout time. We are naturally seekers of knowledge, treasure hunters of the universe where the treasures are answers, answers, and ever more answers to even more questions!

Amongst all of these questions remains the songs and the parable of the death of Kings, and not only Shakespeare expressed these visions of the mindful soul. Everyone who had tied their shoes or slipped on their clothing in the manner of life has at some point asked themselves the same questions and many, many more!

Are there really UFO's?

Is the Sasquatch just a creation of some low brimmed tell-tale salesman?

Was there some grand civilization some-where in the world some-where in the past that may have surpassed our own minor achievements of today?

Amongst these and a litany of other considerations that fester in the questions of the seeking soul are the questions of the eternity of the spirit and how, and if, and where, and to what degree does the spirit or some vestige of who and what we all are and were remain intact after our deaths?

Did those "Ghost-"whatever they call themselves this week"", really photograph or video or EVP what it seems that they did, or was it all some mere creation set to tape to draw-in all of those advertising dollars for the "whatever" network?

Hey, many ask these questions and to not express them would be rather irresponsible when in any expression of the true paranormal seeker!

In a brighter tone, open up those poems of the spirit into that realm regarding what people seem to express deep down at the core of themselves to what they "feel" is true, versus what it so far appears "can be" proven to the world.

As the skeptics' college would certainly express, and expressed very well by the way, there is nothing that can be so far inked to the documents of "legitimate and scientific reality" that can place the mists of a life beyond death to the encyclopedic shelves of humankind's knowledge beyond any reasonable doubt.

This is no doubt true.

Where many people color and tone the cores of their being however is an entirely different matter, and some in the world might say that when in reference to what they feel in their guts and as it ties into what they believe in their own spiritual ways; these souls might say; "to hell with the skeptics rule, because I know what "I" feel is true." Then it will no doubt be asked; "Can a feeling be measured and laid onto a table for analysis?"

Of course not, but then neither can the motives that drive humankinds need to express their love for the greatest of these paranormal considerations of all of the universe in their minds when they draft and build all of their grand world temples, and the cathedrals, and the mountaintop statues, and the crosses, and the great domed halls that clearly exhibit the level of spiritual determination of the spirit of humankind to continue to assert its beliefs in a loving expression of the self beyond the death of their physical self!

This is why people continue to align themselves with the forlorn yearning to seek out those bumps in the night!

This is why so many voice recorders of all variations are placed onto quiet and dark fireplace mantles and bookshelves and onto table tops across the world.

This is why networks like the SyFy channel and others give time to rustle up the interest of their viewers. You see, It is not only about dollars, oh some would say that it is. There are also interested minds behind the legers however who would also like to know the answers to these pondering questions of the soul and do not for one moment believe that there is no true motive of the spirit there as well!

This is why the paranormal is of such interest today and is no longer the feared specter of eternal damnation and darkness that it once was considered to be!

You see...

All of the seeking into the paranormal of the world is also the search for ourselves and our relationship with the world if not the universe that surrounds us!

You doubt this?

Then please do think well on all of this the next time you sheepishly look over your shoulder, as you walk down that long and dank dark corridor, in that dark building, in that setting where and when you are sure you just heard a whisper, or where your certain you just felt something touch you...

Perhaps you just did?

Think about it...

There are a lot of sources out there that refer to, speak on, and countless others that are in the market to peddle anything to do with the paranormal frequency of events in the world. Some are high quality sources, while some others are, well, good and well intentioned entertainment for people.

Then there are those sources that carry very serious and truly presented messages on the subject of the paranormal around us all. If you turn on your television on a specific night you may run across and probably have run across some of the programs and the documentaries that try to investigate and document investigations into the paranormal in the world.

"Why is there such a surge in this" is the common question? Well, lets just re-open that can of worms that this author has referred to in the past called "the thinning veil". Spirits and presences, knocks in the night and something a little more substantive than the wind at the window is being recognized and documented more now than ever before. Yes, the entertainment venues do their jobs at making good films about it and yes, there have been plenty of television series about it on virtually every network lately. This all says something!

Now, there is a high quality publication that has just begun to appear that will serve to ROCK the very foundations of all others that have come before it. It parts from the usual and it gathers together talent and information in the spirit of a common understanding!

It is called:

The Haunted Herald

The Herald's website just recently launched and it is worth the time bookmarking and linking to it! It will be a source to be reckoned with!

This is why the Haunted Herald gathers the latest spot on the "Spiritual Places" hotspot here at Spiritualitymoment.com!

Give it a read, again and again and again and....

Yeah, you get it!
